Chemical Dependency - What You'll Learn

As a student in the Chemical Dependency Specialist certificate program, you’ll study the physical processes of chemical dependency, and how it affects our bodies as well as our friends, family members and society. You’ll also learn how to effectively interview and provide counseling and interventions to those suffering from dependencies.

In addition to classroom instruction, you will gain experience during intensive community-based field service, where you will apply your knowledge by working in a public agency or private organization.

Graduates are qualified to practice in licensed chemical dependency facilities in the State of Washington, including: outpatient, residential, institutional, detoxification and treatment facilities; and in a variety of public facilities.
